Bumpy Rides

Matt had meetings in the morning so he drove down the mountain to get some service and us girls just hung out, cooked breakfast and played. Once he returned we decided to do some more exploring and then after nap head to a nearby hike. Matt wanted to take his bike and after the hike ride a trail all the way back and meet us at camp.

The hiking trail was part of the Continental divide, around 4.5 miles. A pretty trail with lots of flowers but also lots of flies. So far this has been the year of the flies. We even had to get a little fly swatter that’s actually become Maisey’s favorite toy. Lol Just wait. You’ll see it make an appearance quite a bit in photos.

Just around the corner from the top of the hike. She asked to go back cause it was too windy. Lol

After the hike Mais and I hopped in the truck and made the super bumpy drive back to camp where she kept telling me, “Mama be careful” She hasn’t said that once to dad so not sure what she’s implying.

Storms started to roll in and I knew Matt was riding in some yucky stuff. Once he made it back down he was a muddy mess and told us all about getting hailed on during his ride. Ouch!

The next morning we hung out at camp and packed up to head to Vallesito Reservoir. We had stayed there before near the creek but this time wanted to try a different primitive campground near the lake called Pine Point. It’s a pretty spot with easy access to the lake.
